DN: Can a EU Member State and a Third Country deliver a joint doctorate degree in a Joint Doctorates project?

Researchers must be enrolled in a doctoral programme leading to the award of a doctoral degree in at least one EU Member State or Horizon Europe Associated Country, and for Joint Doctorates - in at least two.

So if a Third Country is involved, there should be at least two EU Member States/ Horizon Europe Associated Countries who will confer the joint degree.

As of 2024, joint doctoral programmes must lead to the delivery of joint, double or multiple doctoral degrees recognised in at least one EU Member State (MS) or Horizon Europe Associated Country (AC).
